BT Wi-fi is the new name for our wi-fi service and brings together BT Openzone, our great-value public wireless broadband internet access, and BT Fon, the world's largest wi-fi community.
But it's more than that. We're the only supplier in the country to include unlimited free wi-fi with our home broadband. More recently, we've done the same for our business broadband. So, if you're a BT Broadband or BT Business Broadband customer, you have FREE and unlimited wi-fi with no need to pay for 3G or a dongle to get internet on the go.

Only our name will change. You can carry on using your BT Openzone subscription in the usual way. We'll be changing the name of our subscription and voucher products soon but the names remain the same for the moment.

BT Wi-fi (inc. BT Openzone) is a wireless broadband (wi-fi) service that you can access in public places (hotspots) such as airports, hotels, coffee shops, motorway service stations and city centres. Get online at over 5 million BT Wi-fi hotspots throughout the UK and Ireland, and at selected locations outside the UK. BT Broadband comes with unlimited free BT Wi-fi access so there's no need to pay for 3G or a dongle to get internet on the go. If you don't have BT Broadband, all you need is a BT Wi-fi subscription or voucher.

To help make sure you receive a safe, reliable and robust service, BT Wi-fi encrypts your account details at login. We also advise you make sure you have up to date firewall and anti-virus software to guard against any attacks and we strongly recommend you consider using a virtual private network (VPN), which protects your data from being intercepted. You will find the option to disable cookies via your internet browser options. Note however that some web sites may not support this function.

BT Wi-fi is a member of the Fon international wi-fi community. All BT Broadband customers who've opted in will agree to securely share a portion of their wi-fi bandwidth through a separate channel on their hub. In return, they can use the world's largest wi-fi network for free. That's over 6 million wi-fi hotspots around the world.
